Creating Your Space on the Web

Image Galleries for Photos and Artwork
templates to start you thinking

I love working with visual artists! Together we can create an artistic web gallery for your photos, art, or merchandise! All elements of the templates shown below can be customized: we can change the colors and fonts, add your logos, write photo captions, place watermarks or copyright information on the images, adjust the thumbnail and large image sizes, etc. These design samples each feature the same series of photographs by my friend Gayle Cureton.
(When you click on a thumbnail, the gallery will open in a new browser window.)

1. Gallery
(Flash Lightbox)
The large image pops up and leaves a faint image of the thumbnails in the background

2. Gallery
(Flash Lightbox)
This gallery uses Adobe Flash technology. Has a fun "click" sound effect.

3. Gallery

One of my favorite color combos for photos. Black background.  Plenty of room for custom logo.

4. Gallery

Soothing gray background, thumbnails on the left. Space for comments.

5. Gallery

Another Flash-based layout. Fun, moving thumbnails, similar to the "Coverflow" effect in iTunes.

6. Gallery

Similar in ambiance to #4, with thumbnails at the bottom of the screen.

7. Gallery

Clean, modern clone of #6.

8. Gallery
With thumbnail index page. This is a favorite, easy to customize, and very fast to load.

9. Gallery

A clone of #8, with a band of color across the thumbnail zone.

10. Gallery

Similar to #4, also with thumbnails on the left.

11. Gallery

Slideshow - photo changes every 4 seconds

12. Gallery

Same as #11, but with black background and no slideshow

Disclaimer: My web galleries are based on HTML and Java, and will work on virtually any web browser without additional software. However, Templates #1, 2, and 5 do require the Flash plugin. So do countless other pages you visit every day on the web. Virtually all computers these days have the Flash plugin installed. If the viewer does not have it, a prompt is shown inviting the viewer to download the free plugin. It's no big deal, but I thought I'd mention it. I am starting to use more Flash visuals in my designs. It provides lots of attractive effects.
